DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT
Mrs. Elvira Toole Passed Away Last Night
Mrs. Elvira Toole, wife of Judge William C. Toole, died at the family home, 809 N. 4th Street, at 10 o'clock last night, aged 78 years. Death came after a long and lingering illness, the result, in the main, of her enfeebled condition, due to extreme age. The husband and a number of sons and daughters residing in this city and in other western towns survive. Several of the children were with the husband and father at the deathbed.
The names of the surviving children, all grown, are as follows: Mrs. E. T. Ellis of Columbia, Mo., Mrs. B.D. Stewart of Red Wing, Minn., Mrs. M.A. Gaugh of Clearmont, Mo., Mrs. J.B. Northcutt of Nebraska City, Miss Emma Toole of St. Joseph, O.B. Toole of Quincy, Il., and William and A.W. Toole of this city.
In the death of Mrs. Toole one of the oldest residents of the city has passed away. For about sixty years the deceased has been a resident of this state, and during the last forty-five years she had resided in St. Joseph. Mrs. Toole was born in Kentucky and resided in that state until grown. The funeral will take place from the family residence at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Interment at Mount Mora Cemetery, St. Joseph . . ."
