Brief Biography: Doctor Hewlett was born and reared in Shelbyville,KY and came to St. Joseph, where he lived until Feb 1, 1900 when he went to live with his daughter Mrs. Floyd Stannard in Kansas, City.
He was one of the first dentists to practice in St. Joseph,MO.
He was one of the founders of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Joseph at the corner of 7th & Jule. He was the last living member of the founders. For the last 10 or 12 years he has been and elder in the Second Presbyterian Church in St. Joseph at 10th and Penn streets.
He was in parnership with Dr. J.J. Newell for three years.
He married Mary H. Glaskin 11 Dec 1873 in Buchanan County, MO.
