Death of Mrs. B.B. Frazer.
Was the widow of a Pioneer Wholesale Grocer--Funeral will be Held Tomorrow Afternoon.
Mrs. Ann E. Frazer, widow of B.B. Frazer, wholesale grocer of St. Joseph, died at 8 o'clock this morning at 2618 Jule street. She was eighty years old and had been a resident of the city since 1865.
Ann Eliza Sterrett was born near Carlisle, Pa., June 19, 1837, and her marriage to Mr. Frazer was in 1862. In 1864 they came to St. Joseph by railroad and made the trip by stage from here to Forest City. At Forest city Mr. Frazer became connected withthe wholesale grocery firm of Turner, Frazer & Co., which in 1865 was transferred to St. Joseph. Mr. Frazer died in 1899.
Mrs. Frazer was one of the earliest members of the First Presbyterian Church and was a charter member of the Second Presbyterian Church. She is survived by four sons and a daughter; B.B. Frazer Jr., Lexington, Mo; R.S. Frazer,Jerome, Idaho; W.W. Frazer, Buchanan County; Charles A. Frazer, St. Joseph, and Mrs. James Baldwin, Essex, England.
The funeral service will be conducted at Heaton-Begole's Chapel at 4 o,clock tomorrow afternoon, Dr. W.R. Dobyns of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Mount Mora Cemetery. |
