Biographical
B.B. Frazer was born in Shippensburg, Pa., seventy-three years ago. When he was of age he married Miss Sterrett, member of a family in his home town. Shortly after their married Mr. And Mrs. Frazer moved to Weston, in this state, but he did not long remain there. They settled in Oregon, Holt county, and the early hsitory of that section, if written would contain many mentions of their names. For twenty years the Frazers lived in Holt county and during most of that time Mr. Frazer was engaged in the mercantile business. From the first he was successful in his business ventures, and in a few years he was considered well-to-do. Although he continued in the mercantile business he became interested in other ventures, all of them being successful.
Fifty years ago, Mr. Frazer removed to St. Joseph and interested himself in business enterprises here. One of the largest concerns with which he was connected was the Lett-Frazer Shoe and Boot Company, a firm now out of business. The Turner-Frazer Mercantile company, now in liquidation and the Burgess-Frazer Iron company are both big concerns, and in each of them a great deal of stock was held by Mr. Frazer. His other business interests here were many, and he was one of the most active business men in the city.
The deceased is survived by his widow, four sons and one daughter. The sons are B.B. Frazer Jr., R.S. Frazer, Charles Frazer and William Frazer. the daughter is Miss Belle Frazer. Those who knew him intimately say that Mr. Frazer was a conscientious and upright man in every sense of the word and his hundreds of friends join the family in mourning his demise. the deceased was a leading member of the Second Presbyterian church. Arrangements for the funeral have not been made, but they will probably be under the auspices of this church.
