William W. Frazer Sr. Dies at Age of 95
William Wilson Frazer Sr., 95, rural route No. 5, a retired farmer and lifelong Buchanan County resident, was dead on arrival at a St. Joseph hospital early this morning. He was a stockholder and member of the board of directors at the park Bank.
Mr. Frazer was the son of B.B. Frazer, early-day capitalist and on of the founders of Park Bank, which was founded Nov. 12, 1889. HIs father, who became president of the bank when it was founded, died in 1889.
For many years Mrs. Frazer's farm was on Agency road, east of Interstate 29, and sound of highway 169. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, and a charter member of Buchanan County farm bureau.
Survivors include three sons, Boyd, Thomas, and W.W. Frazer Jr.: two daughters, Miss Ann Frazer, of the home, and Mrs. Noel Robinson, a former Gower resident; two grand children and two great-grandchildren. His wife Mrs. Euphora Brown Frazer, whome he married in March, 1896, died Feb. 12, 1966.
The body is at the Heaton-Bowman mortuary.

Mary Euphoria Brown (b. Oct.7, 1875; d. Feb 12, 1966 at St. Joseph, MO) m. mar. 18, 1896 in the Thomas J. Brown home (corner of Pickett road and Leonard road), William Wilson Frazer (b. Dec. 31, 1872, St. Joseph, MO; d. Mar. 21, 1968 in his home on the Agency road,) son of Benjamin B. Frazer, (b.Mar. 15/23, 1826, in Cumberland Co., PA; d. Aug. 30, 1899). m. Jan. 1863 Annie Eliza Sterrett (b. June 19, 1837; d. Nov. 10, 1917 in St. Joseph, MO). Benjamin married Annie while visiting his old home in Pennsylvania. Benjamin was an early capitalist, being actively involved in several businesses in the community as well as being on the board and president of two banks. In fact, he helped organize the Park Bank situated at 10th and Penn St. He was president of this bank when he died.
Will Frazer was a stockholder and member of the Board of Directors of the Park Bank as well as a prominent farmer in the Walnut Grove Community. He was a charter member of the Buchanan Co. Farm Bureau. His wife, Mary Euphoria, had preceded William in death two years earlier just two months befrore their 70th wedding anniversary. Both are buried at Mt. Mora Cemetery. |
