| Brief Biography: John Hamer, 71 years old, a resident of St. Joseph since 1867, died yesterday at his home, 2801 South Eighteenth street. Death was due to apoplexy, with which he was stricken two weeks ago. Hamer was born in Brighton, England, in 1844, and was a cabinet maker by trade. He was connected at the time of his death with the American Fixture company here. He was an active member of the Francis Street Methodist church, and was a member of the Fraternal Aid society lodge, No. 313. He is survived by his wife, and two sons and two daughters, William Hamer of St. Joseph, J. Lloyd Hamer of Pacific Junction, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Green of Kansas City, and Mrs. Martha Denise of St. Joseph. The funeral will be held from Francis Street Methodist church tomorrow, with burial at Mount Mora cemetery.--From St. Joseph Gazette, January 31, 1916, p. 5, column 3.
