Brief Biography: Birth: Feb. 7, 1863 Venango (Venango County) Venango County Pennsylvania, USA Death: Sep., 1921 Saint Joseph Buchanan County Missouri, USA My grandfather came to Kansas as a young boy of sixteen. His mother, father, and siblings, traveled in a covered wagon. The older boys and father walked beside the wagon with the family dog. They crossed the Missouri near St Joseph, and settled near Blair, KS. As a young man he went to St. Joseph. He met his wife while taking voice lessons from her father. The couple had eight children. He died three days after falling from a scaffling at Armour's Meat Packing Co., where he worked. by Sally Carroll
